September Books Read

Well, I didn't mean for this blog to devolve into an online reading journal, but for now, that's what it's become. Lots of reading and writing, little time for blogging. Next week I'll try and put something new up, but for now, here's what I read in September.

Hope everyone has been finding time to read and write, and that your weather is as beautiful as it's been here in southern Ohio.

Knockemstiff. That was a wild one--did you attend the Donald Ray Pollock reading when he came to Miami? It was refreshing because the dude is a meat plant worker and it completely comes through. All the pretentious affectation you often get in readings was completely absent. Loved it.

Also, have you ever read Denis Johnson's Jesus' Son? You probably have, but if not, I say you squeeze it into October.

Gah! I missed that reading! And no, I haven't read Jesus' Son. I'm working on a new to-read list, so I'll add it. And I still have to listen to my audiobook of Foreskin's Lament!
